Dear Lord by Sandy Reay ©2012

Dear Lord, I got a problem and I don't know what to do.
I think I'll sit here on this rock and maybe talk to You.

You know that I ain't perfect, but I give it my best shot
And I don't need a giant sign to show You what I got.

But some folks look for faults as if they're gonna get rewards.
Just like your war'yor angels, they are brandishing their swords.

These folks have got a list of why there's people they can't stand,
Then use a neon sign to prove they sit at Your right hand.

"Judge not lest ye be judged." Well, these are words I see as true.
I reckon, Lord, the only one that's fit to judge is You.

Dear Lord, I heard some things today that's trouble in my mind,
And I judged them when I thought that they coulda been more kind.

I'm sitting in the breeze now, with the sunshine on my face,
Just trying to find a peaceful heart. It's easy in this place.

I'll count my blessings now, for each and every one You gave.
I'll take a deep breath next, square up my shoulders, and be brave.

This mountainside's become my church. It's beautiful and grand,
And shows me more about your love than any made by hand.

So, thank You, Lord, for listening. I guess You always do.
The beauty of Your land's the only sign I need from you.
