"I was inspired by the title to a kid's book listed in an ad in the local paper. I changed the title to I'll Hold You Close (Until You Fall Asleep). I wrote it while watching the end of 'Titanic,' so the melody I had was influenced by classical music. And, my third verse was about breaking up and didn't fit the song.
